Watson Lake

Four photographers, one lake!  Phyllis and Jon Pardoll went with us to Watson Lake. Neither of them had been there before.  It was a perfect day, but too windy to get much of the mirror effect that Watson is known for. But, some very unusual clouds made up for it.

What fascinates me as I post these images is how differently each of us selects settings and compositions.

Ladies first . . . Phyllis!

Every time Phyllis pulls out her Canon Powershot she skunks us!

Tom had a great day with his fisheye lens.

Finally, if fish in this lake really see the landscape the way Tom's lens can . . . well they probably think we live in a pretty weird place!

For me, the best part of the day was just hanging around with Phyllis and Jon.  They are both accomplished photographers. Just watching them select what they want to photograph and then set up their gear is fun. They share great stories about their days shooting Hasselblad medium format, traveling with 50+ pounds of gear to Africa, Leica cameras, and so much more. It is a privilege to sit in their company.

See you on the next short trip.
