Black Canyon Trail

Greg and Ann (with Lefty) hiked the Black Canyon Trail.  It is such a wonderful trail and to do it at this time of year, between rain storms even . . . well it is special indeed.  If you have a hankering to hike someplace close by that seems like you have traveled all day to get out of the city, well, this is a great hike to consider!

So good to see our mascot, Lefty.  With an early Valentine rock . . .

Mountain bikers can get through this gate!!

Heart Rocks!!!

Black Canyon Trail

Ann and Greg hiked 8.5 miles along the Black Canyon Trail.  The trailhead is located in Black Canyon City.  I have hiked this trail with them before (did not do 8.5 miles, however) and I especially love the opportunities to create awesome panoramas but also take interesting photos of smaller items.  This is the perfect time of year to hike this trail.  Greg said to look for our mascot, Lefty.

It looks like the trees along the river have not turned to their fall colors.  They can be pretty spectacular when they do.  If I recall correctly, however, you have to hike quite a ways before you see them.

Nice leading line.

Sure glad I did not find Lefty here!

Or here!

A prayer for more of this.

Very clever Ann.

Ah, time to rest.  Ya'll go on.  I'll stay here and guard the pass.

So many thanks for sharing your hike with the rest of us.  Mom will love the images!  I hope you stopped at Rock Springs for pie after your hike.  For the fellow photographers who keep track of these sorts of things . . . Ann's photos were taken with either her iPhone 6s or her Canon Powershot G16.  Greg's were taken with a Nikon D750 and a Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.
